The mga is a sports car produced from 1955 to 1962 by the mg division of the british motor corporation. It replaced the t-type cars representing a complete styling break from the older vehicles. With an iconic design, it has been featured in several notable movies, including blue hawaii, animal house and guess who’s coming to dinner. With less than 83,000 miles, the car is nicely painted in british racing green (originally chariot red) with a black interior and grey soft top. It is accented with original parts including a rare working radio, luggage rack, soft top and side curtains. No rust is evident and it has no electrical issues. The car is mechanically sound with a water cooled, inline 4 cylinder, 1600cc/78hp engine, 4-speed, manual transmission, push rod/overhead cams, twin su h4 carburetors, heater box, locking antenna, front disc brakes, mg steering wheel, mg wire wheels, new tires and chrome headlamp covers. The mechanical overhaul occurred in 2010 and included new carburetors, gaskets, rebuilt master cylinders, restored heater box, new cables and a restored engine bay. The trunk looks new with a spare tire, tools and original jack. Two sets of original keys, including an antennae key are included as well as the original owner’s manual. This car had a long life in california prior to the acquisition by its current colorado owner in 2014 and it has always been stored in climate controlled conditions.
